I am so excited to be back in the full swing of school. Our first three days were the best yet! This week in art we the students K-3rd grade are creating a "Geometric Cityscape" using a variety of lines and geometric shapes. We are starting to work our way through all the art elements and principles. As an art "icebreaker" they are beginning the class with some simple art exercises from the Monart school of art. To help me assess where the 4th and 5th graders are in their art knowledge they are starting the year with a formative assessment over all the info they will be learning between now and the end of Dec. That will help drive my instruction over the next few months.
Below you can see the students engaging in their creations.
