This week in art the students will be working with 20 different "Amazing Quotes". These quotes are helpful in our daily lives and will hopefully help us tie in attributes we want to see exhibited in our school. Many of these tie into the "Leader In Me" program that we will be officially implementing next school year. The students will be assigned a quote and then asked to respond to it by interpret the meaning of that quote and write about how they will use this idea in their every day lives. Afterwards they will use a combination of warm and cool color schemes to color in the words. Finally, they are encouraged to fill up the negative space around the words with a corresponding illustration that best portrays their quote. This will help the student to understand that art is literacy as well as writing and gives them an opportunity to be creative in their expression of this idea.
