The past weeks have been filled with many opportunities for the Specials Teams to collaborate and pull together in many ways the curriculum from across many different areas.  This includes everything from working on the 4th and 5th grade production of "Annie, Jr." to "Jump Rope for Heart" to "Around the World at H.E.S.   All of these combined events helps us meet our Program Review requirements as well as provided the students with exciting and varied instruction.  Below are several pictures that capture the essence of what those days looked like for the students here at Highland Elementary.

Students creating our "Heart Hero" Word Wall.  On the wall they posted a note to tell about the person, persons or organization they were jumping rope for.

Mrs. Wood handed out Ninja ducks to the students who collected enough money for J.R.H.

Students had many stations that they rotated out of during their Jump Rope for Heart Session.

Here, the students crawled through the different chambers of the heart.

Students learned about the 7 continents and the major landforms, monuments, wildlife  customs and traditions from around the world.  They learned about the compass rose and other map and globe skills.

The younger grades K-2 had a different set of standards to learn, but we still held them accountable for the basics.

The following week we assessed each grade level and put up the names of the students that achieved "A's" and "B's" plus those that made a 100 on the test.
