As a continuation of our review of lines, shapes and forms, this week in art the 3rd -5th grader have been studying about architecture and architects. The students  have been introduced to George Fuller, the architect the Flatiron building in N.Y. City.  We have been drawing a realistic cityscape like the one in the link above. Our vocabulary list includes the following words, ideas, and people: George Fuller, architect, architectural drawing, architecture, 2 -d shapes, height, width, 3-d, forms, width, perspective, sky scrapper, neutral color scheme, background, mid ground, foreground, value shading, and blending.
