This week in art the 3rd - 5th grade students will be reviewing all the elements of art such as line, shape, form, texture, space, value and color. They will also be reviewing the principles of contrast, emphasis, focal point, balance, and repetition. The subject matter includes, portraits, landscapes and still life's. The various styles are realistic, abstract and non-objective. They will be taking a summative test next week over these elements, principles, purposes, subject matter and styles next week. We used their textbooks to review these things.
The K- 2nd graders will be using the letters "p" through "z" to create various objects. Below are some examples of this work. This not only strengthens their ability to draw but reinforces their letter recognition, following step by step instructions, creativity and eye hand coordination.
