Sept. 29th - Oct. 4th  Realistic landscape of the a Woodland Biome ( 3rd -5th) and Realistic landscape of a Dessert Biome ( K- 2nd)
In an attempt to do as much cross curricular connections as possible, this week's art lesson will teach the students about 2 different types of  biomes or habitats.  The K - 2nd grades will be learning about the vegetation and wildlife of a dessert while the 3rd- 5th grades will learn about a woodland biome, especially that of the Appalachian Mountains. We will be discussing geographical location, weather conditions, soil conditions as well as animal and plant adaptations.  The art concepts covered will include: foreground, mid ground and background as well as how to draw realistic animals and vegetation.  Below are some of examples of each type of habitat that the student learned to draw.
